Tonsil Stones and Bad Breathe
Tonsil stones are more common than most people think and quite often misdiagnosed. Knowledge of causes of tonsil stones and what they are really, one can have the required foundation to remove tonsil stones without undergoing surgery. Believe it or not tonsil stones have become the bane of life fro many people! I too was haunted with tonsil stones for years.
Tonsil stones are also known as cryptic tonsils. These tonsil stones are caused by gathering of sulphur-producing bacteria and debris that become lodged in our tonsils. The debris includes mucus which petrifies in the back of your throat and collects in the tonsil crypts (small divots appearing on the surface of tonsils).
Together with tonsil stones, when the debris combine with the volatile sulphur compounds from anaerobic bacteria beneath the surface of your tongue, it can also create Halitosis (this bad breath disorder which many a time is directly linked to having tonsil stones).
It is worth noting that if you do not have your tonsils then you will not under most circumstances experience tonsil stones. I am not by any chance suggesting you run out and have your tonsils removed!
Having tonsils removed to avoid tonsil stones does not guarantee that the bad breath will go away. As people get older, tonsillectomies become increasingly dangerous; however, even if you have your tonsils removed, you will most likely still have bad breath! Why?
The sulphur-producing bacteria breeding beneath the surface of your tongue, is key to the creation of those tonsil stones, are the most likely candidates to cause bad breath!
So, even if you have your tonsils removed, unless you remove or hinder these anaerobic bacteria, you may still scare away people with your bad breath!
Logically it follows then; since you can not have your tongue removed there is a better idea. Fortunately, getting removing tonsil stones is not that difficult…
